薄荷葉樂團成立於1998年，由主唱兼吉他手林倩、吉他手鍾語桐、BASS手Jubow(高家幃)、鼓手滾滾(呂孟芝)組成，以搖滾為基底，搭配具有詩意的歌詞，展現迷幻又華麗的吉他技巧，曲風多變，現場演出爆發力十足。 薄荷葉首張專輯《涼》於2002年發行，收錄樂團1998至2000年間的青春記憶，從初嚐入口的清新微涼，到成長後的甜美苦澀，曲風詭譎多變，吉他華麗萬千，主唱略帶神經質的稚嫩聲線，搭配率真又尖銳的歌詞，表現出纖細而猛烈的音樂圖像。 薄荷葉第二張專輯《的士房間Taxi Room》於2005年發行，收錄樂團2001至2004四年間的12首創作，任意的曲風依舊在甜美靜謐與黑暗狂躁間遊走，收錄包括〈神的小羊〉、〈粉紅電台頭〉、〈1979〉、〈愛的大未來〉等知名歌曲，至今仍被視為薄荷葉經典之作。 薄荷葉第三張專輯《流放地》於2009年發行，作為樂團第一張概念性專輯，以人類世界的精神疾病為軸心，深入挖掘並層層堆疊出精神病患的複雜內心。編曲精巧繁複，吉他、BASS、鼓和Vocal之間的搭配無懈可擊，恍如電影配樂般的曲間音效，讓11首歌曲一氣呵成，也成為2010薄荷葉休團前的顛峰之作。 the Peppermints are a Taiwan indie rock band formed in 1998. The band consists of Shine(vocals/guitar), Tonpa (lead guitar), Jubow(bass) and Aki(drums) since 2018. Based on rock, they have diverse, psychedelic guitar play with delicate lyrics. Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, their music contains elements of punk, psychedelic rock, garage rock and blues. And they also have impressive tensions in the live performances. In 2002, the Peppermint published their first album Brisk. Came from the days of their youth in 1998 to 2000, this album was composed of both sweet and bitter memories of growth. Shine’s clear but neurotic voice and straightforward lyrics, together with Tonpa ‘s strong guitar sound, trigger rich visual imagery in this album. The second album Taxi Room was released in 2005, which has been the most well-known album of the Peppermint. Arbitrary as usual, in this album they described love and death, sweetness and darkness in life through 12 songs, including “Lamb of God”, “Pink Radiohead”, “1979” and “Love to the future”. In 2009, the Peppermints released the third album Banished, also the first conceptual album. It became the pinnacle of their works before they took a break in 2010. The concept of the album was built around mental illness in the human world, and tried to dig out deep in the complicated heart of psychiatric patients. With distinctive performing styles of guitars, bass, drums and the vocal, as well as imagery sound effects, 11 songs linked together just like a movie soundtrack.
