The Four Seasons of the Forest

The warm sun shines

down upon us

The little green sprouts

wave at us

And the once frozen stream

gently trickles past us

The songs of spring

are heard everywhere

The pink azaleas

start to bloom

And

the star shaped forsythia

blossom too

A fluttering butterfly

comes to

greet the spring flowers

And let's not forget

the buzzing bees

Here comes the spring rain

Oh an umbrella

Now that's good use

of a big spring leaf

If you're lucky

you can find a nice big

spring leaf

to cover your head

Oh the days are

growing hotter

Summer must be here

The trees have grown

large shades for friends

to rest under

What's this sound

Do you hear the

cicadas singing

A fluffy white cloud

floats in the sky

A big and cozy cloud

Wouldn't it be heavenly

to sleep on that cloud

Wow

Clouds are magical

They change

from wispy feathers in the sky

to flocks of sheep

Oh wow

And now

I see clouds that look like

scales of a fish

Wow

The clouds are

getting larger and larger

And the sun is disappearing

as the sky grows

darker and darker

The forest animals

look scared

Butterflies and chipmunks

scurry to look for

a place to hide

Pitter patter

Raindrops start to fall

The frogs in the pond

start croaking

Ribbit Ribbit

Oh

And now

a snail comes

out for his walk

while earthworms

do their squiggle dance

on the ground

One after another

lightening bolts flash

Boom

The roaring thunder

rumbles the sky

and scares all of the creatures

in the forest

A startled frog quickly

jumps in the pond

while a snail hides in his shell

After the rain has passed

A rainbow in the sky appears

Red

orange

yellow

green

blue

indigo

and violet

Look at all of the colors

of the rainbow

Aren't they just lovely

The trees in the forest

turn red and golden

Oh And of course

chestnuts and acorns are

plentiful and ready to eat

That's because fall is here

When the cooler winds of fall

blow through the forest

we can hear the leaves of the trees

rustling to and fro

As the flurry of leaves

fall from the trees

they blow here and there

and everywhere

drifting with the winds

Snow falls from the sky

The white snow

covers the entire forest

the ground

the trees

Welcome to a powdery

white world

The snowy forest is silent

Not a sound can be heard

Does that mean that

no creature can be found now

Oh look over there

There's a bunny

hopping across the powdery snow

And look at the squirrel

as it climbs up the tree

Oh And of course

there's a timid little deer

hiding behind a tree

All of the friends of the forest

can't wait for

spring to return
